Using Tables for Quick
Loading - Nucent India (Website
Design Company) Article
While surfing you must have come across an
affordable web design that seems to take
forever to download. You will notice that first the background
downloads and then minutes later the text suddenly appears. This
is a common mistake made by many designers. They use tables to
make the page look very neat and clean and organized, but they
use only one table to do it. This is where the complication
starts.
The purpose is to create an effective
affordable web design. But many a times they
create new tables. They just divide the cells and place content
in it. If you have few or no images on your
website design then it might
just work. But if your business demands that you put pictures on
your web page then using tables is not advised. If you have a
web site full of graphics then you should use separate tables to
split up your content.
To get around this problem let us understand how a browser reads
a table.
In a normal HTML document, the browser will display text and
images as they load. However, in a table, the browser waits for
the full content in the web site to load before the content is
displayed to the browser and the visitor. So, even if you have
one large graphic in your content, the download time for your
web page might go into a few minutes. To avoid such a situation,
you can break up your large graphic in separate tables with the
border, cell spacing, and cell padding set to 0.
One way to break up the data is two make two tables, one on top
of the other. The top table should contain the logo and any
header information. The second table should have the actual
content. As the visitor sees your logo and some options while
waiting for your page to load, he will wait for the full page to
download. A second option is to make tables inside tables. In
this case, the main table will load showing its contents, while
the table inside it loads. Using tables in such a manner will
make the web pages download time faster. This will also present
some element of the
affordable web design to the user quickly, so
he can read it while the remaining part of the page loads.
Using this method, you can decrease the download time of your
affordable web design, while increasing
visitors. However, we must remember that only small tables will
not make the loading faster. The code you put inside the table
also affects the loading time. Many designers put Java,
Shockwave or ActiveX program into the tables, which may make the
website look better, but it also increases the download time
drastically. Instead of these programs, the use of HTML or
JavaScript is recommended, because is it faster to load and
execute. This is an excellent way to make a quick loading
professional
website design.
